Australia’s Marc Leishman sits in third place at 5 under par following his second round at the Master’s championship. Justin Rose remains atop the leader board after an even par 72 keeps him at 7 under par. Will Zalatoris 68, the 22-year-old, shares second spot with Brian Harman 69 at 6 under. Jordon Spieth is at 5 under par following a round of 68. Conditions were easier with less wind and scores reflected this. Justin Thomas 67 roared back into contention to reach 4 under par, along with Hideki Matsuyama 71, Cameron Champ 68, Tony Finau 66, and SW Kim 69.

Rory & DJ Miss the Cut at the Masters

SW Kim putted with his 3-fairway club after damaging his putter in anger on the fifteenth hole. Notable players to miss the cut, which was at 3 over par, were Jason Day 76 +9, Rory McIlroy 76 +6 and Dustin Johnson 75 +5. Aussies Cameron Smith 2 under par, Matt Jones 1 under par, and Adam Scott 3 over par, all made the cut. Both Leishman and Cam Smith were very positive in their post round interviews about their chances over the weekend. Matt Jones was happy to have made the cut but putted without luck in his second-round performance. The defending champion DJ never looked at his best during this major.

Bryson DeChambeau Powered Back Into Contention at Augusta

Bryson DeChambeau 67 powered his way back into contention at 1 under par going into the weekend. Viktor Hovland 70 and Stewart Cink 69 were also at that 1 under score. Abraham Ancer 69 fought his way back from his 2 shot first round penalty to make the cut at even par. Jon Rahm 72 is also at even par along with Bubba Watson 70, Henrik Stenson 71, Tommy Fleetwood 70, Shame Lowry 73, Brendon Todd 71, and Mackenzie Hughes 72.

Mickelson Makes the Cut

Phil Mickelson 72 made the cut right on the number +3, as did Ian Poulter 73, Adam Scott 73, Jason Kokrak 76, Francesco Molinari 73, Billy Horschel 71, and Sebastian Munoz 73. Matt Kuchar 73 was unsuccessful, as was Sergio Garcia 72, Max Homa 74, Jimmy Walker 73, and Daniel Berger 73, who all missed by a shot. The predicted weather for Saturday is possibly going to be the worst for the tournament, with rain forecast. The 2021 Masters is poised to provide another wonderful chapter in major sporting history.
